Spectral performance data on blind fabrics
Decor Systems now have enhanced spectral performance data on many of their fabric ranges.
For the Monaco, Finesse and Vista ranges a complete set of transmission, reflection and absorbtion data measured lengthwise, square and diagonally for every wavelength in 10nm increments from 280nm to 2500nm is now available. This is useful for glazing and facade manufacturers who need to assess suitability of a blind fabric to be combined with their facade system.
It's essential for facade manufacturers to ensure the proposed blind fabric won't cause thermal shock fracture of the units, which can occur when a highly reflective blind is placed too close to the glazing and the resultant heat build up causes the glazing to crack.
Other thermal performance data is available including Shading Coefficients (SC) and Short Wave Radiant Fraction (SWRF) which is used in thermal modelling to assess the impact window blinds will have on the heat gains and losses through the glazing system.
If you need to meet a particular SC or SWRF figure for your roller blinds, speak to one of our consultants who will be able to search the database to find suitable fabrics which meet the performance criteria.
