Crown House Barking
Crown House is a landmark development in the centre of Barking comprising 2 interlocking towers delivering 400 high-quality homes. The building was designed with inward opening tilt and turn windows, so the developer was looking for a smart practical solution for blinds which wouldn't conflict with the window opening.
The solution proposed by Decor was to use the Perimeos system to create a blind box in the head of the window. This was built into the ceiling by the drylining contractor, creating a completely flush finished recess which the blind could retract into, neatly out of the way of the tilt and turn windows.
The Decor 350 series roller blinds featured Harmony fabric. This is a high performance fabric, chosen to achieve the thermal modelling requirement of at least 60% Solar reflectance. Harmony has 80% solar reflectance (Rs) across all colourways, while still allowing a view to outside.
Unlike many screen fabrics the Decor Harmony fabric is also completely PVC free which further contributes to its sustainable credentials.
