Heading Style

The most common and cost effective form of curtain heading. Consisting of a 75mm heading tape sewn to the top edge of the curtain, with draw-strings in it, allowing the curtain to be 'drawn-up' or gathered to the appropriate fullness. Three hook positions allow you to adjust how the curtain hangs with different tracks.

Pinch pleat headings are a more elegant alternative to the common pencil pleat. They have a special heading tape with triple pleats sewn in at regular intervals for a smart uniform look.

Designed to be used with Ripple curtain tracks, which have special gliders which are linked together. This allows the curtain to hang in smooth even ripples when it is drawn or stacked back. Ripple is especially suited to unlined lightweight curtains and sheers, for a minimal contemporary look. The Ripple gliders are available with 60mm or 80mm spacing, and fullness is controlled by adjusting the hook spacing in the heading.

Eyelet headings are designed to be used with metal curtain poles, to create a minimalist conteporary look. Available in 25, 40, 50 and 66mm internal diameters, and a range of metal finishes to coordinate with the curtain pole. Bear in mind eyelet tops are not suitable for very wide curtains as they cannot run past the pole support brackets. They can do windows up to 3 metres wide as a pair or 1.5 metres wide as a single.

Tab top heading is designed for use with curtain poles. Loops of fabric material are sewn to the top of the curtain which retain it on the pole. They look great with traditional timber poles and tabs can be made from matching or contrasting material to get the look you want. Like eyelet headings, they can't run past the pole support brackets, so no more than 1.5m wide per curtain.

Typically used for very large or heavy curtains such as room divider or stage curtains. This type of heading can support dense fabrics like wool serge and drops of up to 6 metres. A tough polypropylene webbing strip is sewn along the top of the curtain with metal rings to attach the snap hooks. The curtain hangs between 50 and 100mm below the track depending on the size of snap hooks used.

Anti-ligature headings are a specialised heading developed for use in mental health projects. It has no cords unlike pencil pleat curtains, to minimise risk of patient self-harm.
